ANNUAL AWARD DINNER 2003 The final event of the Conference was our Annual Award Dinner. Frank Lowy AC (Order of Australia), Chairman of the Westfield Corporation, received our award, from Lord Woolf, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, for his services to the Australian Jewish Community and to the people of Australia. Other speakers included: Leah Gilbert(Barbados); Dorothy Reitman (Canada); Lord Winston; Lord Luce (Lord Chamberlain to The Queen); and our own Chairman, Sir Gavin Lightman. Frank Lowy described his moving life span from birth in Czechoslovakia; surviving the Holocaust in Hungary; to Aliyah to Israel; and the journey to Australia and work and success in business; leading up to his speciality in shopping malls. Frank Lowy is not only one of Australia's most distinguished business leaders, but a renowned philanthropist, who heads many important Australian Jewish organisations and charities.
